Research for the 21st Century

James Nottingham's blog - Mappiness

Just came across this app for iPhones: mappiness. After installation, you are beeped once (or twice if you prefer) per day asking how you're feeling, who you're with, where you are and what you're doing. This info is then sent anonymously to the London School of Economics, together with an ambient noise rating. LSE are then planning to identify how people's happiness is affected by their local environment. Now how's that for 21st century research? Imagine the possibilities: what's happening in the classroom right now; what have you learnt today; how much feedback have you received, and so on.
