Tactual Tools
Had a great day today with 2 schools from Ås (Norway). They were presenting their findings after a year of research within the CDE process. Amongst the many nice ideas was this one - "Tactual" tools (tactile/factual tools = "tactual")
Children are each given a card with lots of questions on the left hand side and possible answers on the right hand side. They are then asked to link each question with the correct answer using the piece of string (shown). Once they have linked the first question with the right answer, they pull the string round the back of the card and then link the second question to it's corresponding answer, and so on. By the time they have linked each question with an answer, they can check their accuracy by comparing the pattern created by the string with the correct pattern traced on the back of the card.
These cards can be created easily using software from Lesyre (www.lesyre.se) - available in Swedish and English.
